Community-based social respite programs designed to provide reliable, scheduled respite to those caring for a friend or family member living with dementia. A typical five-hour program includes low-impact social time, light physical activities, art and other creative projects, group-oriented games, and lunch, snacks, and light refreshments throughout the day.

Drop-in space for caregivers and people living with dementia or memory loss to spend time in a supported environment. Visitors can connect with Dementia Support NW programs and services or engage socially. Caregivers must remain on site.

Help for people with dementia and their caregivers. Can provide support and make referrals to individuals experiencing dementia including for memory screening, medical diagnosis, and support groups; support to caregivers of people with dementia of all levels, including consultation, options counseling, care planning, and appropriate referrals; dementia education; legal resources; social opportunities; and more.

Monthly respite for foster families, hosted by Skookum Kids. Generally held the first Friday of each month.

A peer-support meeting for parents and caregivers who identify as LGBTQIA+, and with children aged 0-12. Groups will meet virtually once a week for 12 weeks.

A free Parents’ Day Out/respite program where kids with all types of special needs have fun while their caregivers get a break. Participants and their siblings have opportunities to make new friends, play games, do crafts, hear children’s stories, enjoy music, and more, while their parents get a break from their ongoing care-giving responsibilities. Non-medical assistance for aging persons and those with disabilities living in their homes. Homecare workers do everything from housework (grocery shopping, laundry, dishes, etc.) to personal care (dressing, bathing, transferring, etc.). For all income levels, CCS brings affordable, personal care every day, sustaining those who are served with dignity in the home they cherish.

A comprehensive set of supports for community members living with dementia, as well as those providing their care. Services include a variety of support groups, art classes, memory screenings, and dementia-friendly events.

Offers both classroom and online certifications as well as continuing education classes to prepare students for home care aide certification and state test.

Provides supports to unpaid caregivers including informational resources, consultation and training, and respite care.

In home care for adults and children with developmental disabilities, and individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Services include personal hygiene assistance, meal planning and preparation, housework and laundry, shopping for groceries and clothes, medication management and supervision, escort to medical appointments, bed and mobility transfers, respite services, and more.

Six hours of continuing education are required to fulfill parental obligations in receiving Medicaid Personal Care funding to care for their family member. Information, referrals, and assistance in obtaining services that support independence, dignity, and health of older adults and people with disabilities. Staff can assist with services including in-home care, Medicaid long term care coverage, caregiver support, long-term care options, and other general resources.

One-on-one parenting support with a peer provider of your choice. Available for mothers during pregnancy through the first three years after birth. Schedule sessions via text, phone, or video chat as often as you want. Each session is about 30 minutes. Peer support providers are available in English and Spanish.

Maximizing independence and comfort for seniors and persons with disabilities by meeting your needs at home. In-home services include housework and laundry, bathing and personal hygiene, toileting, eating and/or meal preparation, dressing, body care, transferring, ambulation, self-medication, supervision, shopping essentials, travel to medical services, and more.

A state Medicaid program (formerly Medicaid Personal Care, or MPC) for people on Medicaid who need help with activities of daily living, including eating, dressing, bathing, or mobility. The program is administered by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), even for people who are not eligible for DDA. Personal Care services are typically provided in your home.

Long-Term Care services in the comfort of your own home. Caregiving services, assistance with activities of daily living, nursing services, assistive technology, and even modifications to your house are aspects of in-home care. If you are needing assistance to live safely in your own home and meet income qualifications, you could be eligible to receive in-home care.

Week-long overnight summer camps for children ages 6-11 who have been or currently are in foster care.

This pilot peer-support program is offered as a 9-week series, and meets virtually. Each week focuses on a different topic for discussion, and discussion prompts are shared weekly with participants responding at their convenience.
